ABSTRACT

The world is a witness to at least a third of its population falling prey to diseases; a significant portion of which are hard to detect due to absence of any symptoms or those that do not appear until a later stage, which makes treating them all the more difficult. Diseases that are diagnosed too late not just decrease the lifespan but also adversely affect the quality of life. There is a need for significant work to be carried out to come up with novel ways to diagnose these diseases at an early stage.

The biggest challenge we face today is to find a solution that is economical, fast and reliable, giving immediate results, to help us in early diagnosis. With recent advancements in medical technology, nanobots have undoubtedly and unequivocally found their way to the top of the much conceited list of futuristic medical devices.

While major efforts are towards discovering and/or inventing treatment methods for various diseases, addressing the need for early diagnosis has been sidelined. With an idea of giving substance to these critical problems, we have come up with a “DIAGNOBOT” that solely helps in prior detection thus paving the way for better health administration.

Combining the fundamentals of electrochemistry and biology, our device helps in diagnosis of abnormalities at their infancy in-vivo, all in real time; thus following the strides of the Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who strongly advocated that- "A correct diagnosis is three fourth the remedy".
